ICAT previoulsy supported the strengthening of MRV institutional arrangements in the transport and energy sectors in Botswana and built capacity to develop NDC tracking indicators in these sectors. A current project is supporting NDC tracking and policy assessment efforts.

Overview
Support the development and implementation of a framework for NDC tracking progres by creating tools to estimate greenhouse gas emissions and removals, assess policies and measure impacts. Build national capacity for using these frameworks and tools to accurately track, project, estimate, and monitor climate actions, contributing to the country's ability to meet its NDC targets and advance effective climate policies.
- Assess GHG impact of the selected policies and measures using ICAT methodologies
- Develop a framework for projections of emissions in the selected sectors
- Outline an NDC tracking framework for defined sectors
