ICAT Toolbox: Sustainable Development & Just Transitions

About the tool

By integrating sustainable development condiderations, climate action is more likely to be effective and durable, generate positive benefits for society, and achieve desired climate and development outcomes. As countries transition to low-carbon and climate resilient economies and pursue development pathways aligned with the 1.5°C Paris goal, this transition must be implemented in a manner that is just and inclusive. A just transition can help amend and avoid social, economic and environmental inequalities. Transparency supports countries to gather and analyze the data and information needed to plan, design and evaluate policies and actions so that they contribute to sustainable development and achieve a just transition to a low-carbon economy that leaves no one behind.

ICAT offers the following resources in support of countries’ transparency efforts related to just transitions and sustainable development.
