The project is strengthening capacity for the development of a MRV system in the water sanitation sector. The 2006 IPCC guidelines are used to estimate GHG emissions for the sectors included in the NDC, and the GACMO tool is applied to develop scenarios and update strategic documents such as the Low Carbon Strategy and the NDC. Furthermore, the project is increasing transparency around the implementation of climate change strategies in Tunisia and providing recommendations on how wastewater can be used for the production of energy.

Overview
Strengthen capacity building of the MRV system in the water sanitation sector and on NDC indicators and apply the GACMO tool to calculate emissions in NDC priority sectors.
- Capacity building of key stakeholders in the Ministry of Environment and Local Affairs in the matter of MRV
- Identifying the needs and the procedures for the implementation of an MRV system for the water sanitation sector
- GACMO model is used by the stakeholders and actors for their strategic & policy documents
